The manual (notebooks No. 1 and No. 2) contains examples of writing lowercase and uppercase letters of the Ukrainian alphabet that correspond to the "Uniform samples of calligraphic writing of letters and their combinations" approved by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ukraine. In order to develop in first graders the ability to write correctly and accurately, the notebooks offer a template (slanted lines placed at a distance of the width of a line letter), the bottom line line is highlighted; the elements of each letter and the sequence of its drawing are given; different combinations of learned letters, examples of writing individual words, sentences are given. The notebooks contain pages with tracing paper, which provide exercises for drawing elements of letters, words, sentences, which will help the formation of graphic skills in first graders. Plot drawings will serve as material for composing sentences or a coherent story, will contribute to the enrichment of children's vocabulary. Additional tasks and exercises will make classes interesting and effective. The notebooks correspond to the State Standard of Primary Education, typical educational programs and the textbook "Ukrainian Language. Primer" (author I. O. Bolshakova, M. S. Prystinska).
